Katrien Buys was born and raised in Belgium, and a mathematician by education at the Catholic University of Leuven (KU Leuven Belgium). This degree led her to start in the insurance industry where she worked in the Belgian entity of the group during several years.
Triggered by a need of exploring the business world beyond its boundaries, a guiding principle that she keeps valid until today, she set off in 2012 to join the Italian operations and have her first international working experience. After a return to Belgium for 2 years, leading a strategic transformation program, she took the bigger opportunity of travelling and moving with her family to Portugal.
Katrien bridges the gap between her work at Ageas Portugal and impact organizations, creating new business opportunities for positive societal impact. It stands out for being innovative and for always finding ways to cooperate in different areas, creating value both for these organizations and for Ageas Portugal. Maja Groff, Esq., is an international lawyer based in The Hague, and is Convenor of the Climate Governance Commission, which seeks to propose high impact global governance innovations adequate to meet the climate challenge.
She serves as Co-Chair of the Coordinating Committee for the International Anti-Corruption Court (IACC), as well as on The Canadian Task Force Against Global Corruption. As a Principal Legal Officer, she has previously worked on the development and administration of multiple multilateral treaties.
She was a co-winner of a major international prize in 2018 on global governance innovation (New Shape Prize), and is a co-author of the 2020 book, Global Governance and the Emergence of Global Institutions for the 21st Century.

Lars is a serial entrepreneur who has co-founded and supported more than 25 businesses. Massimo Mercati is the Chief Executive Officer of the Aboca Group, he has been involved in commercial distribution, gaining specific experience in this area.
He conceived and managed the Apoteca Natura project from the very beginning, the first network of pharmacies in Italy, Spain and Portugal specialized in listening to and actively guiding people through a path of Conscious Health. Since 2016, the company Apoteca Natura – of which Massimo Mercati is the sole director – has owned 80% of AFAM S.p.A. SB, the company that manages the 21 municipal pharmacies in Florence and of which Massimo Mercati is President.
For several years he has been promoting cultural projects to deepen, with the contribution of scientists, philosophers and artists, the relationship between man and nature and the implications of ecology also in the economic and management fields. Since 2014 he has been personally involved in the Aboca Edizioni publishing house.
Veronique is a stubborn optimist who believes in the power of communication as a force for good. 28 years ago she founded Misteli Creative Agency for this exact purpose.
As a B Leader, Veronique understands that change doesn’t happen overnight. Instead she likes to see it as a gradual process. A series of small steps taken towards a bigger result. Change is about making a shift – and these shifting patterns are Misteli’s mission, vision, and strength.
Under Veronique’s expert guidance Misteli became a certified B Corp in 2018. Prior to embarking as a social entrepreneur, Thomas had spent 25 years as an international executive with major multinational companies, in Europe, Asia, and Australia/New Zealand.
Not all business, Thomas has been on the Boards and panels of a number NGOs, mostly to do with gainful employment of persons with disabilities (PWD). He has also been on the international speaking circuit in Philippines, Thailand, Malaysia, Australia and Europe.
Since being certified as a B Corp in 2015, Genashtim has since been listed as Best-for-the-World among B Corps every year since. Genashtim in Malaysia was also hailed as “Best for the World 2021”, making Genashtim probably the first business anywhere with two independently B Corp certified Best-for-the-World companies.
Happily married with 2 adult children, home is Melbourne, Australia for Thomas. However he spends about two thirds of his time travelling.
Titiaan Palazzi is an Industry Principal at Snowflake, where he leads go-to-market for Power & Utilities. He joined Snowflake in January 2023 through the acquisition of Myst AI (“Myst”), a company he co-founded and where he led all commercial activity as COO.
Myst helped electricity companies predict the near future, by offering an AI/ML platform for time series forecasting. Nearly two dozen leading global energy companies relied on Myst’s software to forecast electricity demand, renewable power production, and market prices, including companies like Enel, Engie, and EDF.
Before founding Myst, Titiaan was a manager at RMI, a leading think tank focused on the energy industry, where he worked directly with its founder Amory Lovins. Prior to RMI, Titiaan worked briefly with Nest Labs and FirstFuel Software. He studied engineering at TU Delft, ETH Zürich, and MIT. Titiaan grew up in the Netherlands and lives in San Francisco.

Oneplanetcrowd is one of the biggest sustainable and social crowdfunding platforms in the Netherlands with a focus on providing growth capital for small and medium sized companies as well as energy projects.
Previously Laura was Managing Partner at DOEN Participations, the venture fund of Foundation DOEN of the Dutch Postcode Lottery. In the Netherlands, Laura was one of the first impact investors and she supported many of the early “green’ companies in their growth. Before this, Laura was active as an account manager for private banking clients at NBC Vermogensbeheer, (now Fair Capital Partners). For these individuals she traded stocks and bonds on the stock-exchange.
Laura also holds non-executive board positions in the Climate Cleanup Foundation and is a member of the “One Single Hub committee” of RvO. Her personal belief is that we can only continue to live on this planet with so many people if we adapt our way of living. For this we need innovative companies to lead the way.
Laura has a postdoctoral degree as Chartered Financial Analyst (Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam) and Master degree in Business Administration (Erasmus Universiteit Rotterdam).
Nille is the co-founder of Danish change agency Märk, a certified B Corp. She brings over 20 years of consulting experience in systems change, transformative business development, and movement making. She is an expert in corporate activism, helping companies define and ignite their social ambition and navigate the shift from extractive to regenerative business. She designs, facilitates, and drives business transformation to have a positive impact on people and the planet.
Nille’s career began in management consultancy where she navigated the diverse business world from start-ups, through family-owned SMEs to large corporates. She was responsible for designing and facilitating strategic transformation in international environments for large organizations, such as Biogen, Maersk, Ørsted, and Copenhagen Airport.
In 2015, Nille certified her consultancy as the first B Corp in the Nordics and founded the Nordic B Corp Movement, which has since grown to a strong community of 40 certified B Corps. Nille is a visionary thinker, skilled at spotting connections and patterns, and an expert in evolving the ability of leaders to think differently.
Nille firmly believes that business only has the right to exist if it helps society to flourish. Passionate about promoting the role of accountants in the sustainable economy, Fou-Khan has been the champion of the NBA’s Green Brigade since 2019. He believes in being visible in the accountancy profession and is actively involved in the SRA, VLB, and NBA, where he serves as chairman. Fou-Khan also shares his expertise in columns for Accountancy Vanmorgen and engages with the profession on social media platforms.
Before his current role, Fou-Khan worked as an accountant and consultant in Alfa, gaining significant experience in the ICT industry. He has a strong desire to look beyond the boundaries of the profession and engages in discussions that broaden his perspective.
Frank van de Ven is an accomplished entrepreneur and the current owner of a family business that specializes in cleaning technology. After carefully considering the dealership, he took over the business in 2008 and made it his mission to build relevant relationships. His company, Future Cleaning Technology (FCT), focuses on working cleaner, faster, greener, and safer with their machines, while collaborating with their customers to ensure that the end result is always better.

She is also a Supervisory Board member of Meerlanden, Ymere, GITP, and Arcadis NL, and a non-executive board member of SEKEM, Egypt. Elfrieke is a past board member of the Green Deal Board and a thought leader on sustainability in supervisory boards.
Sophie is the founder of Doing Business Doing Good (DBDG), a Best for the World B Corp, and a B Leader of the first hour. DBDG offers in-company sustainable transformation programs, B Corp certification guidance, trainings, keynotes, workshops, coaching and retreats. She launched the first Global Sustainability summit (2017) with 30 sustainability experts that inspired thousands of business leaders to use their work and business as a force for good.
